We took the kids to Astorga today, and it was fabulous. We began by walking the Camino de Santiago (just 3KM), which is a dream for me. It was amazing to see something I've only read about, and seen in movies, with my own eyes. We visited a Roman museum next, and got a tour and watched a video of the ruins and the work that was done to preserve the artifacts. I'm a history nerd, so this was my favorite part.

After the Roman museum, we went to the Chocolate museum. We got another tour, and watched a video about how the chocolate was made. We even got samples of the chocolate to taste! Everyone rushed to the store to buy a chocolate bar. Some of the kids said they were buying a little chocolate as gifts, but I'm not so sure...

We had lunch in the park, and played cards. After the park, we went to the Cathedral and then the palace. The kids really seemed to like the cathedral most, and were really interested by the architecture and stained glass. We walked a bit more around the gardens outside the palace, then headed back to the camp. I really enjoyed today, and I'm glad I got to spend some time with other students outside the classroom. Best day so far, but I hear tomorrow may have an interesting theme. Stay tuned, and check out the pictures.

Until next time,
