First full day at camp!!!
After an exciting Sunday afternoon of making name tags, meeting each other and getting settled in their cabins, the kids were ready for an exciting Monday.
The week started off with Colacao, sobaos and the first 'Dual of the Day' which saw two teams do a Wheelbarrow Race. The students met their Teachers and classmates and had their first English Class. My class are lovely, a great group of 8-10 year olds! We started off by choosing adjectives to describe each person in the class, for example Lovely Lucia and Cool Celia, and played some games to learn each others name, Then the students interviewed each other with 'microphones' and wrote down their partner's responses to questions about them, their family and their likes and dislikes.
After class we had a snack and then went up to the football field to play some fun games.
In the afternoon we split the camp into groups - Basketball Camp, Football camp, Dance and Theatre camp, and the 'Clasico' Camp which is Arts, Crafts, Sport and games.
I am working with the Clasico group, so we brainstormed and drew ideas for team names and Mascots. I'm glad to have some Artist's in my group.
Now it's bedtime. Until tomorrow........
