First Day of Camp

My class (6-8 year-olds), had a great first day!  Everyone was very enthusiastic about English class, where we learned each others' names, our ages, and our birthdays.  We talked about all the fun stuff we are going to do at camp this week.  Later on we enjoyed some active games up by the pool, like Ships and Sailors, and Birdie in a Tree.  Everyone was super tired afterwards, and happy to go down [...]

Going for a Walk

Today we spent a long and happy time learning traditional Scottish line dancing from Morag, our resident Scot!  The students are such great dancers!  We also went on a nice walk up into the hills behind camp.  It was a beautiful hot day and our campers were Nature Explorers, collecting flowers and rocks and identifying lots of different insects.  Back at the camp, we drew pictures of our favorite [...]

Today was a good day!

Dear diary, Today was a good day. After the kids ate breakfast, we all gathered together on the grass and had a duel of the day. It was Morag's class against Dana's.  After an intense race, Morag's class won!  Then we had English games with the older kids.  My class, Owen's, Billy's, Carmen's, and Cassie's all went up to the football field. Day 1 of fun!!

Day 1 was a great day, enjoyed by all. We all got to know each other and made new friends. We started the day with breakfast then we met on the grass and divided ourselves into our different classes. I got a great group of kids, ages 11-13; we are the best class! SUMMER CAMP WEEK 1, DAY 2.

They started the day with games. We played 'ships and sailors' plus 'catch the bacon'.  After we had a well deserved break and a fruit snack.
